Information and tips on how to access Medicare Rebate services

• Medicare rebate is $82.30 (eff. 1/11/23) with a referral and a mental health care plan

• Book a longer appointment with your GP/Psychiatrist in order for them to complete a Mental Health Plan with you

• Your GP or Psychiatrist will assess whether you are eligible for a Mental Health Plan

• If you are eligible for a Mental Health Plan, ask your GP/Psychiatrist to make a referral to ‘Kim Golda’

• Bring the referral/Mental Health Plan and your Medicare card with you to your first appointment

• Under a Mental Health Plan, you are entitled to up to 10 counselling sessions in a calendar year. You will be entitled to an initial six counselling sessions, at the end of which My Counselling Place will provide your GP/Psychiatrist with a report updating them of your progress and any recommendations. If you require further treatment, you are eligible for another four counselling sessions.

APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that unplanned issues can arise, and you may need to cancel your appointment. Should this occur, we ask those scheduled appointments be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance.

We want to be available for your needs, and for the needs of all our clients. When a client does not show for a scheduled appointment, other clients lose the ability to be seen.

Please let us know at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time, to avoid the $50.00 cancellation fee (for cancellations or missed appointments).
